The Workplace Relations Commission said a minimum-notice claim involving Fiona O’Hara and Nicole O' Connell was brought out of time and that it had no jurisdiction to decide it. The decision was dated 27 November 2023; the merits were not decided. The jointly heard matter concerned notice pay after both women’s employment ended on 7 October 2021. Their representative said the redundancy claim had been withdrawn after it was paid, leaving unpaid notice in issue. She said Fiona O’Hara was owed €1,760.88 and Nicole O' Connell €1,627.20. The respondent agreed the account was correct but said it was insolvent and unable to pay its debts. The WRC received the complaint forms on 22 March 2023, outside the 12-month limit, which can be extended from six months for reasonable cause.
