The Workplace Relations Commission directed Carton Bros Ltd trading as Manorfarm to pay Monika Janosikova €2,520 for 28 days of accrued annual leave, in a decision dated 9 April 2024. The commission found the leave accrued while she was on certified sick leave from 1 April 2021 to 2 September 2022. Janosikova’s unfair-dismissal and redundancy complaints were not well founded. The officer found the company had acted reasonably in trying to support her return to work after a workplace injury. Her general-operative role continued to exist, and she accepted there were no suitable vacancies elsewhere.
