The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a facilities services company give a driver a €500 voucher after changing her pay from fortnightly to monthly and delaying the grievance process. The recommendation was dated 23 February 2023. The driver said her contract provided for weekly pay and argued the employer could not change that term without agreement. She also complained that the grievance process took too long. The employer said monthly payroll would reduce administrative work and errors, and that it had consulted staff and offered support. The WRC said the change could be challenging for employees and that the delay compounded the driver’s feeling that it had been imposed unilaterally. It recommended the voucher as compensation. The dispute was common to nine employees, with a separate recommendation for each.
