WRC rejects teacher’s complaints against school patron

The Workplace Relations Commission found a teacher’s complaints about a school patron not well founded in a decision dated 30 March 2026. The teacher said disciplinary proceedings and the loss of a promotion followed concerns he had raised about school safety, workplace procedures and other alleged wrongdoing. The school patron denied penalisation and said the teacher had not completed an appeal against an Assistant Principal competition within the required deadline. The adjudication officer found the school patron was not involved in the school’s day-to-day management, which was handled by the principal and board of management, and had no case to answer. Both complaints were found not well founded.
