The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Daniel Clarke’s complaint against Zukon Ltd. and The Auld Shebeen after finding it was filed outside the statutory time limit. The decision, dated 16 October 2023, said Clarke had not met the test for reasonable cause, so the merits of his wages and annual leave claim were not decided. Clarke said he was owed wages and annual leave pay from 2019 and 2020, estimating the amount at €2,492. The respondent did not dispute that money was owed but said the business was insolvent and unable to pay. Clarke said he had expected payment and delayed filing while pursuing the matter with the respondent.
