The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that an office coordinator at a public body be temporarily assigned to a higher grade after finding her work exceeded grade III duties. The recommendation was dated 26 April 2017.
The coordinator, represented at the adjudication by the IMPACT trade union, said her national sustainability role had expanded to grade VI work while she remained at grade III. The public body said she had transferred on the same grade and that a business case could be made for a higher grade, without guaranteeing the result.
Adjudication officer Kevin Baneham recommended a temporary assignment within grades IV to VI, backdated to 19 June 2015, pending the regularisation appeals process. He also recommended that the parties assess the role against the relevant grade descriptions and submit the claim to that process to determine the appropriate grade.
