In 1998, the Labour Court rejected Agemo Trade Group’s appeal and upheld a recommendation that seven Roadstone Dublin Limited workers accept no payment. The Court signed its decision on 23 December 1998. Agemo sought a £400 bonus for each worker, matching an additional payment Roadstone had agreed to give hired hauliers after a concrete supply project at Jervis Street Shopping Centre. The union said its members worked unsocial hours and spent time away from home. Roadstone said its employees received premium overtime rates and that extra project payments could make it less competitive.
