Labour Court rejects union appeal over Aer Rianta promotion claim

In 1994, the Labour Court rejected a union appeal against a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation on a worker’s promotion claim at Aer Rianta. Its decision was signed on 6 December 1994. The union argued the worker should have been upgraded to Superintendent C level and that an application for job evaluation had been mislaid. Aer Rianta said he did not reapply or use the available promotion and grievance routes. The Court found insufficient evidence to uphold the appeal, while noting that opportunities remained for the worker to develop his career within the organisation.
