The Labour Court rejected the Irish Bank Officials Association’s appeal and left in place a recommendation concerning Mr Molloy, a manager in premises administration at Bank Of Ireland Finance. The Court dated its decision 26 March 1991. The recommendation called for the Bank and Mr Molloy to clarify his role, review his working conditions, identify training opportunities and re-offer him entry to its remuneration scheme. The Association had argued that his responsibilities warranted an upgraded role and better pay. The Bank said he was appropriately graded and was prepared to accept the recommendation. The Court found it reasonable and said the parties should accept it.
