The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal and upheld a recommendation that his claim for regrading was not well founded. The decision was signed on 7 July 2010. The worker sought a move from Level 8 to Level 7 after Eircom funded his degrees. The Court found that his qualifications could improve his prospects at interview but did not entitle him to preferential treatment over colleagues. It also noted delays and errors in confirming a suitable post after his displacement through restructuring in 2003.
