The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation on a worker’s acting allowance claim against the Mid Western Health Board. The decision was dated 15 December 2004. The Irish Nurses Organisation sought an ongoing Community Psychiatric Nurse allowance and retrospective payment for the worker, based at St. Anne’s Day Hospital in Limerick. The Court found that the existing arrangement, splitting one allowance equally between the worker and her job-sharing partner from 12 February 2002, was fair and reasonable. The appeal failed.
