The Labour Court upheld Cadbury Ireland Limited’s appeal and rejected a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that a union claim over a worker’s lost overtime be conceded. The Court dated its decision 13 November 2001. The worker, a line patrol operator, had received about £40 a week for overtime. The union sought compensation of 2.75 times the annual loss, while Cadbury offered 22 weeks of overtime pay. The Court said the offer was reasonable and should be accepted.
