What's proposed
RED III Development which will consist of the construction and operation of a renewable energy development comprising the following; - 4 No. wind turbines with a tip height of 160m, a hub height of 92m, a rotor diameter of 136m and all associated foundations.
- A permanent meteorological mast with an overall height of 92m - Turbine and meteorological mast temporary and permanent hard-standing areas including crane hardstand areas; - Upgrade of an existing farm entrance and access track off the R498 regional road to the south of the site in the townland of Grenanstown, to serve as construction and operation access; - Upgrade and widening of existing internal tracks and provision of new permanent and temporary site access tracks and all associated site drainage; - 1 no. borrow pit and associated drainage infrastructure to be used as a source of stone material during construction; and as a permanent material storage area. - Construction of 1 no. temporary construction compound with associated temporary site offices, parking areas and security fencing - A permanent 38kV on-site substation to include control building with electrical infrastructure, welfare facilities, car parking, security fencing and lighting, and all associated infrastructure, services, and site works. - All associated underground electrical and communications cabling connecting the turbines to the proposed on-site 38kV substation. - Underground grid connection between the onsite 38 kV substation and the existing Nenagh 110 kV substation comprising approximately 0.75km within the windfarm, 6.2km along the R498, and 1.1km along the L5136. - Biodiversity enhancement areas - All associated site works above and below ground, including site clearance, site drainage, security gates, fencing, permanent and temporary signage, landscaping and revegetation
