Zoe Thompson pleaded guilty to two counts of assault causing harm to brothers Aidan and Colm Brown. The proceedings were reported on 24 November 2014. The assaults happened at the Abberley Hotel in Tallaght on 15 April 2013.
The court heard that Aidan Brown was coming off the dance floor of the hotel’s Entourage nightclub when he bumped into another man, who became aggressive, and a row broke out. Zoe Thompson intervened and struck Aidan Brown on the forehead with a stiletto heel. He later received seven surgical staples to his head. His brother tried to break up the fight and was hit from behind with the shoe heel, requiring five surgical staples to the back of his head.
Judge Desmond Hogan adjourned sentencing to assess whether Zoe Thompson was suitable for the restorative justice programme. The report said she would be sentenced the following January.
