A youth convicted of manslaughter had sentencing adjourned at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 21 January 2019. The defendant had been found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter after the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Dovydas Jenkas in Claremorris. Sentencing was delayed to allow recovery from brain surgery treating ongoing epileptic seizures. The judge said she also had to consider the victim’s family.
