The unnamed youth’s manslaughter sentence was adjourned at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 21 January 2019, after brain surgery for epilepsy.
He had been found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter following the death of 17-year-old Dovydas Jenkas in Claremorris, County Mayo.
The court was told he had undergone an anterior temporal lobectomy and was recovering from the operation.
Ms Justice Eileen Creedon said sentencing would be considered in October to allow time for his recovery.
