A woman told the Central Criminal Court that she awoke twice from a drunken blackout to find two men raping her. The alleged offences took place in a flat in a Co Leitrim town on a date in 2017. The proceedings were reported on 6 November 2019.
Both men pleaded not guilty to rape. The second accused also denied a charge of oral rape.
The woman said she remembered being in a bedroom with the first accused having sex with her. She said she told him to stop, but he continued and began to strangle her. She said she scratched him in an attempt to get him off. After blacking out, she said, she came to with the second accused forcibly putting his penis into her mouth.
She said she later heard male voices discussing how to get her out of the flat. She texted her boyfriend to collect her and told him she had been raped when he arrived.
The defendants said they had consensual sex with her on separate occasions that night. The woman denied having consensual sex with either man.
The trial, which the report said had begun the previous week, continued before Justice Eileen Creedon and a jury.
