A 56-year-old woman accused of dangerous driving causing death has been sent for trial in Dundalk Circuit Court.

A book of evidence was served on Martina Meehan, Carrickdale Hotel, Carrickarnon, Dundalk.

She is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Arthur Daly (64) at the R166, Annagassan, Dunleer, on July 14, 2024.

Judge Nicola Andrews gave the alibi warning and made a Section 56 disclosure order.

Legal aid was granted for a solicitor, barrister and senior counsel.

Ms Meehan was remanded on the same bail terms, which include a €2,000 cash independent surety, to the circuit court on January 12.

Members of Mr Daly’s family were present for the brief hearing at Dundalk District Court.
