William Ryan was found guilty of sexual assault and false imprisonment at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 26 July 2024, after a jury returned its verdicts.

The charges arose from events at Aughrim Garda Station in Co Wicklow on 29 September 2020. Ryan had pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual assault and one count of false imprisonment.
