William Moran's jury retired to consider a murder verdict in court, reported on 16 March 2015. Moran had pleaded not guilty to murdering Martin Brophy at the old Waterford Institute of Technology building between 19 and 21 May 2012. The prosecution said he admitted kicking Brophy in the head ten times, while defence counsel argued the evidence did not establish murder. Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy had concluded his charge before deliberations began.
