Wayne Dundon fails to adjourn murder trial

By Orla Quinn

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Wayne Dundon failed to have his forthcoming murder trial adjourned at the Special Criminal Court. The court refused his application, while Mr Justice Paul Butler said the possible length of the trial should not prevent it going ahead. The proceedings were reported on 15 February 2014.

Dundon is charged with murdering Limerick businessman Roy Collins at Coin Castle Amusements, Roxboro Road Shopping Centre, Limerick, on 9 April 2009. He was due to stand trial on 29 April, with the case expected to last four to five weeks.

Remy Farrell, for Dundon, argued there was little reality of the trial finishing within the allocated period and raised disclosure issues.
