Wayne Dundon and Nathan Killeen were granted a disclosure order by Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley in the Special Criminal Court in their murder case involving Roy Collins. The proceedings were reported on 9 April 2014.
The two men are charged with murdering Roy Collins at Coin Castle Amusements, Roxboro Road Shopping Centre, Limerick, on 9 April 2009. They were due to stand trial at the non-jury court on 29 April 2014 before presiding judge Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley.
The court ordered disclosure of telephone recordings concerning contact between gardaí and civilian non-expert witnesses, where such recordings existed.
It also directed that videos of interviews with prosecution witnesses relating to this investigation be released to the defendants’ solicitors and kept at their offices until the close of the trial. The court did not consider disclosure of interviews with other suspects, or prosecution-witness interviews relating to other investigations, necessary or appropriate.
Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley also granted an order under Section 56 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 for a copy of any recording of Nathan Killeen’s questioning during detention. She granted an application to certify a second junior counsel in the case.
