A Waterford man received eight concurrent life sentences for rape at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 3 May 2016.

He pleaded guilty to raping his girlfriend and her mother between 2 and 5 July 2015 at locations in Dublin.

The court also heard he admitted false imprisonment, attempted rape, aggravated burglary, threats to kill and aggravated sexual assault.
