Warren Farrell pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to dangerous driving causing the death of Elizabeth Core at Fonthill Road South on 28 August 2014.
The proceedings were reported on 7 December 2018. The trial was due to continue before Judge Cormac Quinn and a jury.
The State alleged that Farrell drove dangerously and caused Core’s death. The report said the patrol car’s emergency lights were activated, but its siren was deactivated so the garda passenger could communicate with command and control.
Patrick McGrath SC, defending, said Farrell accepted that he was driving the patrol car and that there was no issue as to the cause of Core’s death.
