This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Two boys convicted of Ana Kriégel’s murder were kept anonymous by a Central Criminal Court order reported on 19 June 2019. The court ordered Facebook and Twitter to remove photographs or other material identifying them, after concerns were raised about social media posts. Mr Justice Michael White said publishing identifying material breached the Children Act and court orders. The Director of Public Prosecutions was allowed to notify the companies of an intended application involving contempt proceedings and possible penalties. Facebook said it had removed identifying content and applied technology to prevent it being reshared.
