Trial opens over alleged murder of Christopher Nevin

Wayne Cluskey and Josh Turner went on trial at the Central Criminal Court accused of murdering Christopher Nevin at Tailteann Road, Navan, on 19 November 2015. The proceedings were reported on 2 February 2017.

Both accused, from Mooretown, Ratoath, Co Meath, pleaded not guilty. Prosecuting counsel Michael O’Higgins said the dispute concerned breeding a male chihuahua with Mr Nevin’s dogs, and that Mr Nevin was struck with a hatchet before dying from his injuries.

Mr O’Higgins also said the men had put forward their justification for what happened and did not dispute that they were the men seen in the attack on CCTV. The trial was continuing.
