Trevor King told Dublin District Coroner’s Court on 18 October 2023 that Stardust exits had been chained and locked before the fatal fire.

King said he worked at the nightclub and was instructed to lock exit one after taking rubbish bags out. He said he could not say whether doors were locked while patrons were inside, and had not personally seen chains used to make exits appear locked.

The inquest also heard evidence from other witnesses who described chained or locked exits on the night of the fire. The report said the inquest was continuing.
