By Niamh Kearney

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Trevor Corr was granted bail on a charge of manslaughter of James Humphries. The proceedings were reported on 24 September 2013.

The report said James Humphries, a 32-year-old father-of-one, had been stabbed to death two days earlier as he slept in a bed at Kiltalown Way in Tallaght. Trevor Corr, of Kiltalown Way, was arrested shortly afterwards.

Detective Garda David Jennings objected to bail on grounds including the seriousness of the charge and the weight of evidence against the accused.

Following a short break to consider the matter, Judge Anthony Halpin granted bail with 13 conditions. These included staying with his brother until he could return home, surrendering his passport, observing a curfew and lodging €1,000 of his own money as well as €3,500 in two separate independent sureties.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
