Three men were convicted of raping a woman they met in a Dublin nightclub and were sentenced to terms of 15 and 13 years. All three have lodged appeals against their convictions and sentences. The proceedings were reported on 9 April 2025.

The men had pleaded not guilty to seven counts arising from events in a car and a Dublin house on 31 August 2019. Their trial was at the Central Criminal Court before Mr Justice Paul Burns.

The first man denied raping the woman at his home, orally raping her and sexually assaulting her in a car. The second denied raping her in the car and in the house. The third denied orally raping her in the house and sexually assaulting her in the car.

In his opening address on 14 January 2025, prosecution counsel Karl Finnegan said the woman's recollection was extremely fragmented. The court heard that CCTV showed her getting into a car with the three men.

The report said a video taken by the third man was played in court and that the woman could be heard saying “no” three times. In interviews with gardaí in September 2020, the men said their sexual interactions with her were consensual. Asked about the video, two said she was saying no to a request for anal sex, while another said she was saying no to taking off her top.
