This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Terry Ward was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to burglaries committed on July 20, 2024, and February 12, 2025. The court heard he stole two laptops worth €3,000 in the earlier burglary and carried out six burglaries in Dublin 2 in February while on bail.

Judge Orla Crowe imposed concurrent two-year sentences for the earlier offences and three-year sentences for the February burglaries, to run consecutively. She suspended the final year of the five-year term on conditions including good behaviour for two years, and ordered Ward to engage with the Probation Service for two years after release, particularly regarding addiction services. The sentence was backdated to February 2025. Ward said he would appeal.
