Stephen Browner received a suspended 20-month sentence for eight sexual assaults at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 30 January 2019. The assaults occurred at a south Dublin family home between December 1997 and December 1999, when the victim was aged between eight and 10.
Browner, of Stoneybatter, Dublin, pleaded guilty. The sentence was suspended on conditions including completion of treatment programmes recommended by the Probation Service, including victim awareness.
