Stefan Condurovici was sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 5 October 2018 to 18 months in prison, with the final 13 months suspended. Judge Melanie Greally backdated the sentence to 25 June 2018, when he went into custody.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of possessing cloned payment cards. The offences took place in Dom Marmion car park on the Sandyford Road in Dublin on 25 June 2018. The proceedings were reported on 5 October 2018.

The judge ordered Condurovici to leave Ireland within seven days of his release and not return for 10 years. She said he had cooperated fully with gardaí and made very early pleas in the District Court, and gave him credit for his lack of previous convictions.

Gardaí had followed two co-accused from Dundrum Town Centre to a car park, where they joined two others in a car, including Condurovici. He made full admissions after his arrest and produced six cards. He told gardaí he had used the cards to buy runners for €120 and toiletries costing around €46.

Garda Karl O’Neill agreed with defence counsel John Moher that Condurovici was at the lower end of the group’s pecking order. Judge Greally said the purchases amounted to around €200 and noted that someone remained at a loss for about that amount, although gardaí had not identified the bank accounts used.
