The Stardust inquests resumed in Dublin District Coroner’s Court on 23 May 2023, with evidence expected to begin on 7 June and the process expected to continue until the end of the year.

Senior coroner Dr Myra Cullinane said more than 300 witnesses would be heard, including staff and management, patrons, emergency services personnel and experts.

The jury is to consider the identity of each deceased person and when, where and how they died. The inquests examine circumstances beyond the medical cause of death, but cannot determine criminal or civil liability.
