This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Stardust inquest jury viewed graphic footage at Dublin District Coroner’s Court on 14 December 2023. The fire at the Artane nightclub killed 48 people in 1981.

The footage showed emergency workers removing victims and included interviews recorded after the fire. Coroner Dr Myra Cullinane said the images would help jurors understand the evidence and warned that some were difficult viewing.

Pauline Murray described trying to escape with her friend Josephine Glen, falling in darkness as crowds moved around them and hearing Glen call her name. Glen died from her injuries five days after the fire.

Proceedings paused for Christmas and were scheduled to resume on 9 January.
