Stacey Lennon awarded damages after workplace wrist injury

By Rory Hanlon

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Stacey Lennon was awarded damages by the High Court on 28 February 2017 after a workplace wrist injury. The judgment followed an assessment of damages after she obtained judgment in default against Fun Fitness Limited, which was in liquidation.

Lennon slipped on liquid while working at Fun Fitness, Total Fitness Complex, Sandyford, Dublin, on 29 October 2011, landing on her left hand. Mr Justice Barr found that carpal tunnel syndrome in her left wrist was caused by the accident and awarded general and special damages. The court said it was not necessary to determine liability because the default judgment had already been entered.
