Slavomir Gierlowski was jailed for a further six years at a Dublin court, bringing his total sentence to 34-and-a-half years, reported on 10 October 2022. The sentence was for assaulting and falsely imprisoning a woman walking in Ballymount Park in May 2011.
The additional term is consecutive to his existing sentences and is due to begin when those terms finish in 2037. Judge Elma Sheahan said public protection was an important consideration and noted the woman remained affected by the attack.
