Shane Finn was sentenced to two years in prison for possessing cannabis for sale or supply at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

The proceedings were reported on January 13, 2023. Finn pleaded guilty to possessing the drugs for sale or supply at his home.

The drugs were found on July 17, 2021, and Finn said masked men threatened to kill him in front of his child.

Detective Garda Bernard Briody said he believed Finn was under duress, while the defence said he had received no payment.

Judge Martin Nolan recognised the coercion but said Finn had a responsibility not to break the law and refused a second suspended sentence.
