Sean Ruth appeared before the Special Criminal Court charged with eight money laundering offences on 2 June 2020. The alleged offences relate to lodgements made in Ireland between 1 January and 31 December 2016. The charges allege that Mr Ruth knew, believed or was reckless as to whether the money was the proceeds of criminal conduct. There was no objection to bail, but conditions required him to live in County Laois, report to Portlaoise Garda Station three times weekly and surrender his passport and travel documents. Justice Tony Hunt adjourned the case to Friday, 31 July.
