Sean O'Kelly was jailed for six years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 13 February 2019 after admitting endangerment, arson, robbery, burglary and criminal damage. The endangerment occurred at Gateway Avenue, Ballymun, where two cars were set alight in a driveway, forcing three generations of one family to escape into their back garden.

Judge Melanie Greally imposed consecutive sentences totalling 12 years, suspending the final six years on strict conditions. O'Kelly had pleaded guilty to the offences, including setting two cars alight and damaging six other cars in the neighbourhood. The court took account of his guilty pleas, rehabilitation efforts and lack of offending since 2017.
