This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Saverio Bellante was remanded in custody at Cloverhill District Court over the alleged murder of Tom O'Gorman; the proceedings were reported on 17 January 2014.

Judge Victor Blake was told Bellante would not be produced, while a letter was handed in from the Central Mental Hospital.

The State sought a two-week adjournment because the case file had not yet been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Bellante's solicitor, Michael Staines, sought video evidence and interview memoranda and raised concerns about publicity and the sub judice rule.

The judge ordered that the requested material be provided by 29 January, when Bellante was due to appear again at the same court.
