Ryan Glennon pleaded not guilty to membership of the IRA at Special Criminal Court Number 2 in Dublin on 27 October 2016.

The charge relates to alleged membership of an illegal organisation on 13 May 2015. Prosecuting counsel said the court would hear evidence concerning a property search in Courtown, Co Wexford, where explosives were found, as well as Garda surveillance.

The trial, before Mr Justice Robert Eagar with Judge Sinéad Ní Chúlachái and Judge James Faughnan, was expected to last two weeks. Evidence from a detective sergeant concerned items found during the search, including an adapted lunch box and protective suits.
