The jury retired for deliberations in Roza Komorova’s trial over the alleged theft of paintings worth more than €28,000. The trial was at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court before Judge Mary Ellen Ring. The proceedings were reported on 24 March 2015.

Komorova was accused of theft of the paintings from Louise Mansfield’s home on Brennanstown Road, Cabinteely, on 5 September 2011. She has pleaded not guilty.

On 20 March 2015, Komorova testified that she did not understand questions gardaí asked her during interview. In those interviews, she said the paintings were hers and that she was going to hang them on her wall.

She told John Berry, defending, that Mansfield had asked her to move the paintings. On the first day of the trial, Mansfield denied telling Komorova to take them. She said Komorova seldom helped her move paintings and did so only under her supervision.

Komorova also alleged that she had an affair with Mansfield’s husband, Theo Hanley. Hanley testified that he had never been unfaithful in the 38 years of their marriage.
