Roy Webster's murder trial jury was sent home by the Central Criminal Court on 22 March 2017 to continue deliberations the following day. Webster has denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter, a plea the State did not accept. The prosecution alleges he killed Anne Shortall with a hammer at The Murrough, Co Wicklow, on 3 April 2015. The jury had asked to rehear Carmel Phibbs's statement and view exhibits, including the alleged weapon.

Seven women and four men had deliberated for three and a half hours before leaving at 4pm.
