Ron Tulie’s sentence cut for sexual intercourse with child
This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
Ron Tulie had his sentence for sexual intercourse with a child under 17 cut by the Court of Appeal, reported on 28 October 2016. He was re-sentenced to four years in prison, with the final two years suspended, after pleading guilty to four offences committed in the Dublin mountains between 1 June and 27 July 2008.
The court said the original sentence exceeded the statutory maximum because the indictment did not identify Tulie as being in a position of authority. The suspended period required him to enter a good-behaviour bond.
