Robert Reynolds was jailed for three years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for possessing heroin worth €286,020. The offence took place at his Ballyfermot home on 19 December 2016. The proceedings were reported on 7 February 2018.
Reynolds pleaded guilty to possessing just over 2kg of heroin. The court heard that he and Edward Maher were found mixing heroin in a garden shed at Reynolds’ home. Reynolds told officers he had been asked to help prepare the drugs as a favour.
Garda Shona Moran agreed that Reynolds had co-operated fully and appeared to be easily led. She said she was satisfied he had not owned the drugs. His counsel, Pauline Walley SC, said he was remorseful and at the very bottom of the operation. Judge Martin Nolan accepted that Reynolds was “not the most street wise” but said he knew what he had been doing with the drugs.
