RAS Medical gets High Court order to preserve medical data

RAS Medical Ltd obtained a temporary High Court injunction requiring its website provider to preserve business data, including medical data, after a hearing before Mr Justice David Nolan on 16 November 2023.

The order was made on an ex parte basis. The court said the evidence at this stage satisfied the judge that a temporary order should be granted.

RAS Medical said its relationship with Create for the Web Limited, trading as Ireland Website Design, had broken down after an alleged secret recording of a Zoom call. The company maintained and supported RAS Medical’s website.

RAS Medical also sought orders under the Data Protection Act and damages over the alleged processing and disclosure of personal data. Those claims were not resolved by the temporary injunction.
