A dispute over planning permission for a Raheny housing development was adjourned on 16 July 2018 by Mr Justice David Barniville, with submissions due later that week.

The challenge concerns permission for 104 houses and 432 apartments on lands used by St Paul’s College as six playing pitches.

Objectors seek to quash the permission. An Bord Pleanála accepted it had made an error, and its counsel, Nuala Butler SC, told the judge that the board would consent to orders quashing the permission.

Butler said the matter would then be remitted to the board for fresh consideration. Eamon Galligan SC for the residents and Oisin Collins Bl for Peter Sweetman opposed the remittal.

The judge put the matter back to Friday for submissions from the parties.
