Play Print gets provisional liquidator over insolvency

By Gráinne Nolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Play Print Ltd had a provisional liquidator appointed at the High Court on 8 May 2019 after being found insolvent. The Dublin printing business, which produces bingo cards, scratch cards and lottery tickets, employed 47 people. Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds appointed Micheál Leydon of Outlook Accountants to oversee the company. The court heard Play Print had been loss-making since 2016, with debts exceeding €500,000 and a projected €161,000 loss for the year ending 30 June 2019. Its difficulties were linked to digital competition, a shrinking bingo market and euro-sterling exchange-rate changes. The matter was due back before the court later that month.
