Pia Bang Stokes and Georgio Casari given more time over contempt

Pia Bang Stokes and Georgio Casari were given more time by the High Court on 7 October 2014 to file outstanding company accounts after the liquidator’s counsel said they were in contempt of court.
John Kennedy, for Myles Kirby, liquidator of Vino Classico Ltd, said the directors had not complied with September 2013 orders requiring them to file the firm’s annual returns for 2010 to 2012 with the Companies Registration Office. The court had given them an additional four months to comply in May 2014.
Georgio Casari was not in court. A solicitor appearing on his behalf said he was doing everything he possibly could to file the accounts and comply with the court orders.
Pia Bang Stokes, who represented herself, said she had not been contacted by Georgio Casari but had received some accounting details prepared by him. She said she was unhappy with the information because it had not been audited.
Mr Justice Paul Gilligan adjourned the matter until later in October, saying both directors had to comply with the orders and that co-operating with each other was in their own interests.
