Paul Gregory identified after rape reporting ban lifted

By Gráinne Nolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Paul Gregory can now be identified after his conviction for raping his wife’s sons at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 22 December 2020. He had pleaded guilty in 2015 to 205 counts of rape and sexual assault committed at his Co Wicklow home.

Mr Justice Tony Hunt imposed a 21-year prison term in March 2016, with the final five years suspended. The judge later ordered reporting restrictions lifted, but stayed that order for 28 days while an appeal could be brought; no appeal was made and the deadline passed.
